Mentat Routage - Brothers of Dimension feat. Médéric Collignon (FR)
MENTAT ROUTAGE is a French collective that creates a trans-artistic exhibition combining improvised music, tap dance, painting, and video projection. At the intersection of jazz, rock, free punk, and contemporary music, the Le Mans-based band offers a sonic and visual universe far removed from the beaten path.
Too numerous to list here, their influences include Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Magma, Das Mahavishnu Orchestra, Bernard Lubat, Aka Moon, Phil Minton, John Zorn, Thelonious Monk, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Salvador Dalí... We could certainly add Potemkin and Art Zoyd to the list.
We present you BROTHERS OF DIMENSION, the new creation 2024 by Mentat Routage, around the universe of Frank Zappa, with Médéric Collignon as a guest. An exhibition where the interplay between musical improvisation and video projection transports us to a universe of sound and image – crazy and surprising...
Yves, Max... Frank? Who is he?
The sounds surge into his brain like a toxic current, overcoming the multiple personalities of this man who is losing his grip. Is he being manipulated? Or is he sinking into paranoia? Is he so fascinated by his idol that he is becoming his avatar? His thoughts travel through dimensions.
