”The Breed” is a multifaceted group from Finland and the he musicians are Grammy and Emma Award-winning and nominated collaborators who work with Steve Vai, Devin Townsend, Dweezil Zappa, Mike Kenally, Jacob Collier and many more.

”Heavy Jazz - music of Pekka Pohjola and Frank Zappa” has taken The Breed to successful performances in concert halls, clubs and festivals in Scandinavia with their own, with symphony orchestras and big bands.

The Finnish composer and bass player Pekka Pohjola was a without a doubt one the greatest musician of the European progressive rock / jazz scene. He rose to fame as the bass player of the of the progressive band Wigwam and Mike Oldfield among others, but soon departed on a solo career, initially releasing Frank Zappa-infulenced albums. He did, in fact, collaborated with Frank Zappa who respected and appreciated Pekka Pohjola.

Jukka Iisakkila is a versatile musician-guitarist-percussionist-composer and internationally renowned conductor and a respected collaborator of Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa, Devin Townsend among others as well an artist on the ECM and Dacapo labels.
Jaan Wessman is a wide-ranging instrumentalist whose numerous collaborations include Mike Keneally and Marco Minnemann.
Aki Lääkkölä is know for Absoluuttinen Nollapiste, a highly famous finnish ensemble.
Ville Ojanen is a violinist-composer at the international world music scene and drummer/percussionist Niko Ronimus is a familiar figure in the symphonic and jazz scene in Finnish orchestras.
