When Bob from Vancouver is flying to Germany in the mid of August he put all his money into this trip - and he won't go to Heidelberg or Berlin, but solely to a small festival at the baltic sea: the Zappanale. What is it that makes him going there? What kind of "sickness" makes the aficionados of progressive rock music from all over the world do a pilgrimage to Bad Doberan?

The exhibition is reflecting 20 years of Zappanale and one part is giving information especially about 'Zappa and the GDR'.
Those of you who experienced the GDR will recognize a lot, all others will get a better understanding.

… is one of Zappa’s quotation regarding the many juvenile movements which started worldwide in the 60’s... and for the political upheaval in the socialistic countries Zappa had an easy explanation: “The Soviets have gone out to the country for the weekend - this made things easier.”

For those of you who can't wait: This is the right preparation for Zappanale #21. The Grandmothers Re:Invented are on tour in Europe. On July 15, 2010 at Bergkeller Reichenbach / Vogtland the only concert 2010 in Germany of the Grandmothers takes place.
